The Institute for Holocaust Education is honored to partner with the Memory Project to bring Messages from Survivors: One Family’s Holocaust Legacy to communities throughout the region.
This portable, scalable, and adaptable exhibit brings Holocaust survivors’ voices directly to museums, classrooms, libraries, and community centers. Through six powerful videos and six accompanying panels, visitors experience the story of one Jewish family while gaining a deeper understanding of the impact of the Holocaust. Personal stories of survival, resilience, family, and celebration create meaningful connections to history, challenge antisemitic stereotypes, and preserve the messages survivors wanted future generations to hear.
Expanded exclusively by the Institute for Holocaust Education, this version of the exhibit includes a seventh panel, Aftermath: Survivors in Nebraska. Developed in partnership with the Memory Project, this companion panel explores the experiences of Holocaust survivors after liberation and the challenges they continued to face as they rebuilt their lives. Featuring the stories and testimony of survivors who ultimately made Nebraska their home, it provides a local connection that deepens visitors’ understanding of the Holocaust’s lasting impact and its relevance to our own communities.
