SUMMARY:Week of Understanding at the Durham
DESCRIPTION:For 50 years\, Abe Piasek carried in silence the unfathomed weight of surviving Nazi labor and death camps. In time\, he knew he needed to share his experience\, doing so at schools\, churches\, community centers and military bases. Before his passing in 2020\, Abe asked his friend Steve Goldberg\, an educator\, to keep telling his story — a story of a 13-year-old boy being taken away from his family and never seeing his parents or little sister again.\n\n\nAbe’s legacy continues on March 25 at The Durham Museum\, as part of the Institute for Holocaust Education lecture series. We are honored to welcome Steve Goldberg\, who will share with our audience Abe’s story of pain\, courage and healing.\n\n\nTo Register: DurhamMuseum.org/holocaust-education
