For The Community
Holocaust Remembrance Day - Yom Hashoah
Holocaust Remembrance Day (Yom Hashoah) provides a date for the community to gather and remember the six million Jews and the millions of others who were murdered during the Holocaust. The Omaha Jewish Community observes this day each year in the spring on the Wednesday evening closest to the International Day of Remembrance. Omaha will commemorate Yom Hashoah on May 4, 2011 at 7:00 at Beth Israel Synagogue.
In addition, the Lincoln community also commemorates Yom Hashoah at the Nebraska State Capitol building. The date for this event will be announced soon.
